Basic car rental service
- Adobe Rent a Car will offer to the clients basic information, such as: maps, hotel addresses, common transit regulations, etc
- Cars will be delivered in perfect mechanical conditions and clean.
- Vehicles will be delivered with insurance and all permits to date
- All of the vehicles have A/C, Radio AM / FM and/or cassette player /CD player.
Additional services and benefits
- The following services are given free of charge, but are subject to availability: coolers, baby seats and racks. Please request them during your reservation.
- Free delivery of the rented vehicle in the following places:
- Adobe Rent a Car main offices in San José
- Hotels in the Metropolitan Area
- International Airports: Juan Santamaría and Liberia, Guanacaste
- Playa Flamingo
- Quepos
- Ciudad Quesada
- Fortuna
- Passengers that come from Tortuguero, with previous coordination with reservations department
- Vehicles can also be delivered any place in the country for an additional fee. The additional cost varies, so please consult in each case.
- Daily cost of additional driver: US$ 2.
- Adobe Rent a Car, does not charge any percentage (12%) for delivery service in the International Airport of Juan Santamaría.
- Reservations online for anyone interested in reserving directly.
Road Assistance
Adobe Rent a Car offers 24 hour assistance in case of an emergency. Currently Adobe Rent a Car has an assistance program called Adobe Assist-GEA, which offers an efficient and quick attention to any incident.
This optional service of GEA costs US$6 per rent, and includes the following services:
- Towage Service: in case of accident, the automobile will be towed back to Adobe Rent a Car.
- Basic Road Assistance: in case of minor damage caused by the client, as a battery malfunction, the damage or malfunction will be corrected on-site.
- Emergency Medical Assistance: in case of accident that requires immediate medical assistance or hospitalization, an ambulance will be provided to transfer our customer to the nearest hospital or clinic.
- Locksmith Service: in case of misplaced keys or keys left inside of a locked car, Adobe will send a locksmith to open the automobile.
- Continued Trip Service: in case of accident of the automobile, our customer will be provided with alternate transportation to the next scheduled destiny, ensuring that travel plans are unaffected.
GPS Service
Adobe Rent a Car provides with a GPS System. This product seeks to give the user the trust and security they need at the moment they are visiting the country. The unit allows to search hotels, restaurants, gas stations, cities, towns, villages and more. The GPS must be booked at the initial request in order to assure the service.
It has a cost of US$ 6,00 per day; all clients who hire this service must provide a guarantee deposit of US$ 300 with credit card.
Car and driver program
Adobe Rent a Car will provide with a bilingual chauffer to all those customers that do not want to drive in Costa Rica.
The program includes a bilingual chauffer (English, German and French spoken options), his or her lodging, meals, and full cover insurance for the rented car. The service is available for rentals with a minimum length of 3 days. Fuel is not included in the price. A credit card deposit for the rented unit is not required.
- Basic insurance – General conditions
All car rentals must include the basic insurance. The client will pay a maximum of US$ 750, as a deductible in case of collision, damage, roll over, theft and will be responsible for a 20% deductible for third party damage.
Exclusions of the Basic Insurance Coverage
Coverage benefits will be void in case of demonstrated negligence of the customer, such as:
- Use of drugs or alcohol while driving
- Driving in rivers, sea, mangroves, lakes or cross-country where no established routes are designed
- If the car driver is not registered in the rental contract
- Fail to provide an official report in any case of accident (Traffic Report and Insurance Company Report)
- Fail to report the accident to Adobe Rent a Car Operations Department as soon as it occurs, regardless of the type of event. The call should be made to the emergency line.
A negligence case list will be provided in the rental agreement
- Guarantee deposit and credit cards
A mandatory deposit of US$750 is required with a major credit card (Visa, Dinners Club, American Express or Mastercard). Credit card companies´insurance are not accepted.
- Basic documents for car rental
It is mandatory to present at the moment of the rental the following documents:
- Valid passport with immigration stamps
- Original and valid driver license
- Driver must be at least 21 years old
- Valid major credit card
Rates change according to the season.
